With over 15 years’ experience Sue has worked in all areas of Midwifery such as Delivery Suite, Antenatal wards, Postnatal wards, the DOMINO program and currently manages The Antenatal Education Department in one of Ireland’s largest Maternity Hospitals.

Jean is a Midwife with over 15 year’s experience and also a Mum of two. She has been providing antenatal education for 7 years and is hugely passionate about helping expectant parents prepare for the wonderful journey ahead. She has worked in all areas of midwifery in both a hospital and community setting.

Louise began her midwifery career in 2007 after initially training as a Nurse and brings her extensive experience to The Baby Academy having worked in antenatal, delivery and postnatal care, both in the hospital and as a Community Midwife. Louise is hugely passionate about parent education and women’s health and is a Mum to two children.

Aisling

Aisling is a Midwife working in Cork University Hospital. With extensive experience in the labour ward and postnatal ward, Aisling brings a wealth of knowledge to expectant parents. Aisling is hugely passionate about parent education and has completed the specialist antenatal education course in UCC. Aisling is widely-regarded as an antenatal expert and is passionate on sharing her wealth of knowledge to expectant first time parents in the Munster Region.

Ghislaine

Ghislaine is a senior midwife with the UK Emergency Medical Team and currently works in clinical education. Ghislaine completed her midwifery training in 2002 at the Florence Nightingale Institute of Nursing and Midwifery, King’s College London and has worked continuously since then, gaining a wealth of experience in all aspects of maternity care. She has a great interest in antenatal education and loves working with prospective parents to help prepare them for the incredible experience of childbirth.

Ellie

Ellie has 9 years’ experience as a midwife including antenatal, labour, postnatal care and antenatal education. She has worked extensively with young parents delivering all aspects of midwifery with the caseload model of care and the Family Nurse Partnership programme. Her main passion lies in empowering women to be confident in their ability to grow and care for their babies. Ellie currently works with vulnerable families in a large London teaching hospital.

Laura

Laura brings to The Baby Academy almost a decade experience as a Midwife and has experience working in all aspects of Midwifery. Laura has worked on the labour ward, postnatal ward, birth centre and in the community with young parents and vulnerable women. Laura has also spent 3 years working in Dubai on both a labour ward and in the community supporting families with their babies up to 18 months old.

Anne works in a busy UK teaching hospital as a Caseload Midwife, providing continuity of care to vulnerable women and their families. Allison began her midwifery career almost a decade ago after previously working as a registered nurse at one of the nation’s largest maternity hospitals for 4 years.  Since then, she has worked in both inpatient and outpatient settings, and has experience in all areas of midwifery, including prenatal care, antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum care, gynecological care, and family planning. Allison is passionate about educating expectant parents and enjoys providing them with the knowledge and skills needed to help  their transition into new parenthood.

Emily

Emily has been practicing as a full-scope certified nurse-midwife for over a decade having earned her master’s in midwifery from The Ohio State University. She is nationally board certified and has been lucky enough to “catch” almost 1,000 babies so far! Emily has experience attending births in both in a hospital setting and in a freestanding birth center. In 2019, she authored a journal article on the outcomes of water birth in the hospital, as well as a textbook chapter on evidence-based OB care. In 2020, she began a full-time faculty position and is now teaching certified nurse-midwife students. She places great value on patient education, whether during pregnancy, labor and delivery, postpartum, or well visits. Informed consent and shared decision making have always been cornerstones of her practice. She is committed to furthering equity in pregnancy care in the US in order to address racial disparities in pregnancy and infant outcomes.

Cris

Cris has been a practicing Nurse Midwife for 28 years and a busy mom of 4 children! She has delivered well over a thousand babies during her career.  She spent several years doing a fellowship in Integrative Medicine at the University of Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine and obtained her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree at Duke University.  Cris has practiced in all areas of women’s health at both large university medical centers, clinic settings, as well as private practice.  She is passionate about empowering women and helps them to realize their internal strength during pregnancy and delivery.

Odessa

Odessa has almost  decade of experience practicing full scope midwifery, including primary care, family planning, antenatal, intrapartum, postpartum care, plus many other aspects of midwifery. Odessa is also a guest lecturer for the midwifery education and nursing program at the NYU Rory Myers School of Nursing and conducts training for nurses as a consultant for the Department of Mental Health & Hygiene in her area.

Amber has been a Certified Nurse Midwife and a Family Nurse Practitioner for almost a decade. She has worked in a variety of different practice settings across the United States. She brings with her a wide array of prenatal, birth, and newborn knowledge as well as clinical experience. Amber is very passionate about women’s health and really believes that high quality prenatal, birth, and newborn education helps people to feel empowered about their health and the health of their newborn.

Jannah

Jannah is a Nurse-Midwife with over a decade of experience and also a Mom of three. Having started as a birth doula for low-income families, Jannah went on to complete a BSc in Nursing and a MSc in Nurse-Midwifery over the course of her career. As well as becoming a childbirth education instructor, Jannah is hugely passionate about helping expectant parents prepare for the wonderful journey ahead. Jannah believes that education truly is power and understands that increasing the knowledge of childbearing families can decrease the echoing, trans-generational economic, and racial disparities that they are faced with. Jannah brings with her a wealth of knowledge, having empowered families across numerous States in the country.

Dr. Elle

Dr. Elle is an American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB) Certified Midwife, Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Army, and a busy mom of 3 children! She began her midwifery education in 2011 at Philadelphia University and later obtained her Doctor in Midwifery from Thomas Jefferson University. She is a fellow of the American College of Nurse-Midwives (ACNM) and committed to reducing racial and ethnic healthcare disparities among women. Elle is an advocate for midwives and women at the national and local levels with ACNM. She is passionate about lowering the infant and maternal mortality & morbidity rate through community engagement, education, and advocacy to empower women and their families and facilitate informed decisions about their care.

Crystal

Crystal is a Midwife who brings a wealth of experience to The Baby Academy with almost a decade of Midwifery in Canada. As a busy mother of three, she has supported labouring people in and out of hospital settings, with a huge passion for Childbirth Education. Crystal loves to travel and has also volunteered in Maternity Hospitals in rural India and Tanzania.

Hayley

Hayley is a Senior Midwife and was the first instructor to join The Baby Academy in Canada. Hayley brings a wealth of experience to The Baby Academy, having graduated ‘summa cum laude’ from McMaster University, and has gone on to working with marginalized and under-served communities. She helped to develop a First Nations Health Initiative and has a particular passion for supporting LGBTQ+ families as they navigate the unique challenges of pregnancy, childbirth and the postpartum period. She is honoured to support and guide birthing families as they seize the many opportunities for empowerment and growth throughout the childbearing year.

Lizane

Lizane has over a decade of experience in her midwifery career and has worked in all areas of maternity care…with her heart still belonging in the labour ward! Having worked in both the public and private sectors of healthcare, she brings knowledge and experience that is applicable to each mom’s unique birthing plans. She specialised in teenage pregnancy, something she is very passionate about and is a mom to two busy little twin girls.
